Islamabad: After endorsement from both the house of parliament Upper house of the parliament (Senate), lower house of the parliament ( National Assembly ) President Asif Zardari will sign the 26 constitutional amendment.
Signing ceremony of 26th constitutional amendment will be held today at some time while parliamentarian will participate in the ceremony.
The 26th constitutional amendment has been approved in Senate and National Assembly (NA) as the government succeeded to prove its two third majority
A para-wise approval of 26th constitutional amendment was given in the NA while the NA needed 224 votes for approval of the amendment on the hand 225 votes were cast for the approval of the amendment.
After para-wise approval voting through division was conducted for the approval of 26th amendment.While the PML-lifetime supremo was first to cast his vote under the division voting.
A six deviated members also cast their votes out of which five were belonged to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while one was belonged to the Pakistan Muslim League -Q (PML-Q)
It is pertinent to mention here government members are 211 in numbers in the NA while it needed 224 votes.
Government has its (PML-N) 111 seats, PPP 69 seats, MQM-P, 22 seats, PML-Q , five seats, Istahkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) ,4 seats, PML-Z, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and National Party (NP) each has one members.
Whereas three members of the government have been facing reference, this way numbers are 211 after support of JUI-F votes this number jumped to 219 and the government needed more five members for approval of the constitutional amendment.
Chaudhry Ilyas, Usman Ali, Mubarak Zaib, Zahoor Qureshi , Aurangzeb Khichi including five independent candidates were reached the NA. While all the members were elected on the support of the PTI.
Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent an advice to President Asif Ali Zardari for assent of the 26th constitutional amendment after its passage by both houses of the parliament with a two third majority.
