ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has issued the CDA Amendment Ordinance 2025.
After the approval of President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, the gazette notification of the CDA Amendment Ordinance has also been issued.
After the amendment, compensation can now be paid not only in cash but also in the form of land or other means. The Deputy Commissioner will be authorized to award separate contracts for land and buildings.
The amendment ordinance will provide legal protection for the rehabilitation and resettlement of affected individuals. An additional compensation of 8% per annum will be paid for delayed payments.
The ordinance also includes special measures for individuals with disabilities, minors, or those with legal constraints. Property can be transferred from the CDA without any hindrance.
New guarantees for the protection of landowners’ rights have also been included in the amendments, and the restoration of the quality of life for affected individuals has been made mandatory. Pending cases from before October 2025 will be dealt with under the new policy.
