ISPR said in its statement that the inquiry in the clash between security personnel and National Highway and motorway police (NH&MP) has been initiated and the responsible will be dealt strictly.
It said the action against the responsible will be taken as per law and all the requirements will be fulfilled to provision of just.
Following appearance of the photos of clash between motor police and security personnel the high-ups contacted and they agreed to investigate the issue properly and responsible would be punished.
According to the document which is being widely shared on the internet, NH&MP patrolling officials had intercepted two cars on September 10, 2016 which were being driven recklessly. Instead of cooperating with the NH&MP officials, the drivers became “rash and flared up”. One of the drivers, later identified as an army officer, also pointed his pistol at motorway officers.
It further added that one of the drivers made a telephone call and subsequently 20-25 army personnel reached the spot and the army personnel assaulted the officers with butt and batons, later they took them to Attock Fort, however after intervention of senior army officers they were released.
