ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) imposed ban on the usage and sale of Afghan SIMs in the country.
Sources said that PTA directed cellular service provider companies not to provide roaming facilities on Afghan SIMs. Federal government said in the letter to provincial governments that strict action will be taken against the company, who will facilitate the Afghan SIMs.
Federal government issued special instructions to FIA, police and other institutes in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistani government want agreement with Afghan government to make a mechanism for stopping the mobile signals of each other countries at borders but Afghan government is not showing interest in it.
