Islamabad (October 24, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary Information Fawad Chaudhry has aid that the party will challenge the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to reject its reference seeking to de-notify dissident MNA Ayesha Gulalai.
As ECP rejected PTI reference against Gulalai with a majority decision of three-two, Fawad Chaudhry announced to challenge the decision.
He said that the party will not allow Gulalai to sit in the Assembly on its ticket. He added that Gulalai had announced before media to quit the party.
“We will follow the matter to the end, her actions damage the struggle of other women,” he said.
PTI leader Shafqat Mahmood also spoke to media earlier.
He said that the ECP decision to dismiss the reference against MNA Ayesha Gulalai ended constitutional discipline.
He said that whatever Gulalai said in her statements was an indicator of leaving the party.

Earlier, the ECP dismissed the disqualification reference filed against MNA Ayesha Gulalai, following which she will remain a member of the National Assembly from the PTI.

Sources said that in the short-order, two members of the five-member ECP bench, from Punjab and Balochistan, have authored a dissenting note in the judgment.
