LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced plans to deploy fog cannons across key districts during Muharram-ul-Haram to help alleviate the intense heat and dusty conditions faced by mourners.
As per official statements, a total of 15 fog cannons will be positioned along processional routes and at prominent gathering points to help lower the ambient temperature.
Lahore will see the installation of four fog cannons at various procession sites, while other cities like Multan, Jhang, Chiniot, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi will each be equipped with one fog cannon.
Furthermore, additional fog cannons will be set up in Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, and Dera Gazi Khan to ensure the comfort of participants during the Muharram rituals.
Officials also mentioned that water-spraying operations will be conducted along the procession routes to further reduce the heat and provide relief to attendees during the observances.
