ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti have inaugurated the Jinnah People’s Mass Transit Train Service in Quetta.
Speaking at the ceremony, Abbasi said the federal government was committed to supporting the people of Balochistan. He noted that the province was the first in the country to introduce a metro train service.
Bugti said the train would offer residents—including students, workers and businesspeople—an affordable and convenient travel option. The service will operate daily between Kuchlak and Sariab, stopping at seven stations.
The chief minister said plans include extending the route to Bostan and Mastung, with the track upgraded for two-way operations within a year.
