Rains To Continue Lashing Most Areas of Country

Islamabad (July 16, 2017): Monsoon rains continue lashing almost all areas of the country turning weather pleasant and also causing many difficulties and problems caused by rain-caused flash floods inundating road, rain water barging into homes, flooding nullahs and rain drainage posing threat for people, power breakdowns, and slowing down all activities.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rains continuing lashing areas in Lower Sindh including Karachi.

The Met Department has forecast more rains in various areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtwankhwa provinces, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Fata, and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rains are expected to to lash Zhob, Sibbi, Naeeranad, Kalat, and Mekran cities in Balochistan province. The heavy rains are feared to cause floods in nullahs, waterways, ponds, rivers in Balochistan.

Rains are also expected to lash Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi.

There is also rain forecast in Islamabad. The heavy rains forecast in FATA, Kashmir, Hazara Division and Gilgit Baltistan forecast to continue till Wednesday pose threat of landslides in these mountainous areas.

During the next 12 hours rains are also expected to lash parts of Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, D G Khan, Bhawalpur, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. The weather in other areas of the country will remain hot and humid.
