Gaza: Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) is calling for urgent, credible, independent and international investigations into the attack.
“These killings and the apparent efforts to hide the bodies are a horrific development in a conflict that has already been characterised by egregious breaches of the laws of war and human rights, including widespread attacks on healthcare,” said Sam Zarifi, the executive director at PHR.
On the other hand, the Israeli military claimed that an initial investigation into the killing of 15 emergency workers in south Gaza last month showed that the incident occurred “due to a sense of threat”.
It said it had identified six Hamas members as being in the vicinity during the incident in Rafah.
