Schedule for Bushra Bibi’s family meeting changes, says sources

RAWALPINDI: The planned meeting between Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI leader Imran Khan, and her family has been rescheduled. Initially, sources indicated that Bushra Bibi was expected to meet her daughters on Tuesday. However, the family will now visit Adiala Jail on Thursday, where the meeting will take place.

The reasons behind the change have not been disclosed by officials. The new schedule shifts the family gathering to Thursday, according to updated information.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan addressed the media, urging the government to provide political space for opposition parties and foster an environment of reduced tensions. He reaffirmed that decisions regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial budget will be made lawfully and constitutionally.

Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan has consistently advocated for increased investment in health and education sectors. He criticized restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan, calling them inhumane and a violation of basic rights. Furthermore, he expressed concern over PTI leaders not being informed about Imran Khan’s recent eye surgery at PIMS and demanded that they be allowed to meet him during visitation hours at Adiala Jail.

He warned that suppressing political voices would hinder national progress and urged the authorities to create a more open political environment. Gohar reiterated PTI’s commitment to national interests, stating, “Pakistan’s well-being comes first, politics second.”

The PTI leader also stressed the importance of reducing political tensions, highlighting that internal stability is crucial for Pakistan’s growth. His comments followed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent call for opposition parties to engage in dialogue and work collectively towards the country’s prosperity and development.
