WEB DESK: Devastating collision between a pickup truck and a tour van occurred on a highway near Yellowstone National Park, resulting in seven fatalities and eight injuries, Idaho state police reports
The accident took place shortly before 7:15 p.m. on Thursday near Henry’s Lake State Park in eastern Idaho, approximately 16 miles west of Yellowstone. Details regarding the cause of the crash have not been disclosed by authorities.
Both vehicles were engulfed in flames following the collision. The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck and six individuals inside a Mercedes passenger van lost their lives.
The van was transporting a tour group of 14 people; the remaining passengers who survived were rushed to local hospitals with injuries. Emergency responders, including air ambulances and paramedics, attended the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
