Shocking video emerges of woman’s dumbbell attack in Karachi’s Khayaban-e-Bukhari

KARACHI: A fresh video has emerged showing a woman allegedly attacking another woman with a dumbbell during a dispute in Karachi’s Defence area, prompting police to launch a further inquiry into the incident.

The mobile footage, reportedly recorded in Phase 6’s Khayaban-e-Bukhari, shows a woman identified as Maryam Ali Raza allegedly striking another woman several times with a gym dumbbell.

Several police personnel can also be seen at the scene while the alleged assault is taking place, raising questions about their response to the incident.

Police authorities have said the matter is being investigated and that legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible following the inquiry.

The incident occurred on August 21, while police sources said Maryam Ali Raza is a relative of SSP Fida Hussain Janwari.

Following the altercation, a theft case was reportedly registered against the two siblings who were allegedly assaulted. Police later said CCTV footage contradicted the theft and robbery allegations, prompting authorities to remove the relevant sections from the FIR registered at Darakhshan Police Station.

An investigation team led by SSP Investigation South is currently examining the case. Police officials said the personnel visible in the newly surfaced footage would also be questioned to determine their role and response during the incident.
