Sindh CM directs police to curb street crimes in Karachi

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah while expressing concerns over increase in street crimes in the city has directed the concerned authorities to take effective measures to curb the crimes.

The Chief Minister chaired a high level meeting regarding street crimes in the country.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, IGP Sindh, CPLC chief, Additional IG Karachi and other high officials of police department.

Briefing the meeting, CPLC chief said that increased incidents of mobile and motorcycle snatching were being reported in day and evening timings. The Chief Minister remarked that he was not satisfied over police performance to curb street crimes as Karachiites feel insecure due to these incidents.

He directed the police high ups to not only curb street crimes but also crack down on drug mafia and people involved in purchase of stolen mobiles and vehicles.

The meeting decided that in wake of increased crimes in the city, additional 10 thousands police personnel would be deployed in the metropolis.
