Six tremors felt across Karachi since yesterday

KARACHI: Six tremors have been felt in various parts of the city since yesterday, causing panic among the residents. These six earthquakes started last evening and continue to this day.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Landhi, Malir, Quaidabad, Saudabad, Khokrapar, Port Qasim, Steel Town, Bhens Colony, Gulistan-e-Johar, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Most of the tremors’ epicenters were near Quaidabad, while some originated near Malir. The intensity of the earthquakes ranged from 2.4 to 3.6 on the Richter scale.

According to the Seismic Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 11 kilometers east of Malir.

Earlier, tremors were felt around 10:25 AM and 11:04 AM, causing widespread fear and panic, prompting residents to leave their homes.

The Seismic Center reported that the tremors in Landhi and Malir had an intensity of 3.2. The epicenter was near Quaidabad, at a depth of 10 kilometers underground. The tremors were reported at 10:29 AM.

It is noteworthy that two other tremors were also felt in Karachi the previous day.
