Snowfall Predicted In Kashmir, Muree    

Islamabad (February 11, 2018): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday predicted snowfall in different parts of the country including Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Muree and other parts.

In a press release, it said that westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country on Saturday and likely to grip upper/central parts of the country on Sunday and likely to persist over Malakand, Gilgit-Baltistan intermittently for few days.

Under the influence of this weather system, rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) of light to moderate intensity is expected at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Lahore divisions), Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday and Monday.Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, D.G.Khan, Multan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur divisions on Sunday.

Snowfall is also expected in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Galliyat during the period.

Spokesman further informed that this rain will be beneficial for rabi crops.
