South Africa’s Test team landed in Lahore on Wednesday, kicking off their tour of Pakistan with a two-match Test series set to start on October 12. This visit marks South Africa’s journey across all formats of the game in Pakistan. The first Test is scheduled to take place from October 12-16 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, followed by the second Test from October 20-24 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In the coming days, the team will focus on training and getting used to the local conditions before they take on Pakistan in the Red Ball Series, which marks the beginning of the new 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle for both sides.
Pakistan is eager to kick off the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship on a positive note after finishing at the bottom of the table in the last championship, suffering nine defeats out of 14 matches. Conversely, South Africa is keen to start their title defense with a strong showing.
After the red ball series, fans can look forward to three T20Is and as many ODIs scheduled from October 28 to November 8. The squad for the white-ball series will be revealed later.
