Students leaders demand army to form interim govt led by Dr Younis

Dhaka: Students leaders have demanded the Army Chief Waqar Uzaman to form a interim government in the lead of financial expert Dr Younis.

The students leaders will call on the Army Chief soon.

The students leaders have said that the noble lauret Dr Younis be made Chief Advisor.

It is likely that within 24 hours an interim government will be made.

Prime Minister Hasina Wajid had fled India in an army helicopter yesterday after tendering resignation from her post after three-weeks of students protest.

The students protest which had been continued for a three-week hiatus claimed 300 lives and thousands of other injured.

The death happened owing to skirmishes and clashes with police.

The protest started over the government quota system which gives 30 percent of jobs to heirs of people died during the liberation of Bangladesh in December 1971.

Owing to the protest Bangladesh Supreme Court ended the quota system and allow the government to keep only 3 percent quota for people lost their lives in independence war in 1971.

After the fulfillment of the students demands, Hasina Wajid government announced a ban on Jamat-e-Islami Bangladesh and also imposed ban on social media platforms youtube, whatsapp, tik tok.

The Hasina government also imposed curfew all across the country.
