The PTI has called off its protest scheduled for October 2.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called off its protest scheduled for October 2 in Multan.

According to ARY News, PTI leader Aun Abbas Bappi stated that the decision to cancel the protest is due to the arrival of the England cricket team, which is set to land in Multan at 2 PM on that day.

Bappi emphasized that the founder of PTI expressed his love for the country, highlighting the significance of welcoming an international team visiting Pakistan.

The PTI leader mentioned that the founder of PTI had previously announced peaceful protests in Mianwali, Faisalabad, and Multan. However, the protest originally planned for Multan will now take place in Bahawalpur.

It is important to note that the government has acted on the speeches delivered during the PTI rally on September 8. A decision has been made to file a sedition case against PTI leaders for their remarks made at the Sangjani Jalsa. Legal action will be taken against those specifically named in the cases related to the speeches given at that event.

The government plans to submit an application under Section 196 of the Penal Code. Cases filed under this section are non-bailable, and the police are not required to obtain a warrant for arrests made under it.

The Ministry of Law and the Federal Prosecutor General have confirmed this decision, and a request has been made to the Federal Cabinet for formal approval of the matter.
