Mumbai: Indian Navy craft lost control while undertaking engine trials in Mumbai Harbour due to engine malfunction.
At least 13 people have tragically lost their lives following a collision between an Indian naval vessel and a passenger ferry, which was carrying over 100 individuals.
The dead included one naval sailor and two from a boat manufacturing company who were part of a team carrying out a trial.
Incident occurred off the coast of Mumbai, the country’s financial hub, resulting in the ferry capsizing. Rescue operations are currently underway as authorities work to locate and assist the remaining passengers.
99 people were rescued with efforts ongoing for others.Indian Navy said in a statement on X account.
