Tragic domestic violence incident in Jaranwala: woman kills husband, injures children

JARANWALA: In a shocking case of domestic violence in Jaranwala, a woman reportedly attacked her husband with a knife, resulting in his death, and wounded their three young daughters, police officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the Shehri Awana area, where the woman, identified as Gulshan Bibi, allegedly stabbed her spouse, Khalid, in the neck and abdomen during a domestic altercation. Khalid succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

In addition to killing her husband, Gulshan Bibi reportedly assaulted their children—Aneeka, aged 10, Anaya, aged 8, and Aiza, aged 4—with a knife. The three girls sustained injuries but are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

Authorities have detained Gulshan Bibi in connection with the incident, and a case has been registered based on the complaint filed by Khalid’s brother.

In a related incident from Peshawar last month, a woman named Atiqa was arrested for allegedly dousing a young man with acid and firing at him after he declined her marriage proposal. The suspect was taken into custody following her arrest at Chamkani Police Station, with an FIR filed against her.

The victim, Sadiqullah, and Atiqa reportedly knew each other, and he claimed that she had been pressuring him to marry her and demanding a sum of Rs2.3 million. When he refused, Atiqa allegedly threw acid at him as he was leaving his residence and then shot him, hitting him in the chest.

Sadiqullah was quickly transported to a trauma center, where he received treatment for burns and gunshot injuries. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about violence and the need for stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such tragedies.
