WASHINGTON: The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has launched his cryptocurrency ‘Trump$’ and the market capitalization of this currency has reached several billion dollars.
The launch of the “Trump$” meme coin comes at a time when US President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office as the 47th President of the United States on Monday.
This cryptocurrency has been launched under the auspices of CIC Digital LLC, an affiliate of the Trump Organization.
The company has previously launched Trump-branded shoes and perfumes.
On the other hand, Melania Trump, the wife of the newly elected US president has also launched her own cryptocurrency before becoming the first lady.
Taking on the social media plateform X on Sunday Melania wrote, The official ‘Melania meme’ is now live, you can buy $MELANIA now. The “Official Melania Meme” website says it is a cryptocurrency, built on the Solana blockchain, and is being tracked on it.
The announcement comes a day after Donald Trump launched the ‘Trump Cryptocurrency’.
It should be noted that, nothing can be purchased with this currency, but fans are still buying currency in droves, Trump says that, this is an official meme, but it is not clear how many dollars Trump and Melania earned from this project.
