Technical glitches at NTDC circuit trigger long load shedding in Karachi

Karachi (May 22, 2017): The technical glitch at circuit of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) has triggered long unscheduled load shedding in Karachi that multiplied the problems of the people of port city as most parts face 12-hour load shedding.

Despite K-Electric’s claims of immediate repairing of fault, the long load shedding duration being increased and jumped from 8 hours to 12 hours that plunged the most parts of the city into dark.

The K-Electric spokesperson terming the power crisis temporary said that after technical fault in NTDC circuit the shortfall of electricity has now reached 300 megawatt.

NTDC fault severely affected District East, Central and Malir whereas 11 to 12 hours load shedding not only hampering routine life but also disrupted industrial areas as well.

KE spokesperson warned the load shedding situation will be continued in next two to three days. The people expressed anger over the situation and asked provincial and federal government when their promises will turn into realty.
