WASHINGTON: Welcoming the statement of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif that Pakistani territory will not be used for terrorism a statement issued by White House said that Gen Raheel Sharif’s statement is extremely important and that Pakistan needs to keep exerting pressure of terror groups.
During the press briefing by senior office bearers of Obama administration the senior White House personnel further said that America welcomes the statement that Pakistani territory will not be used but would see how Pakistan implements it.
He further said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also said that Pakistani territory will not allowed to be used to carry attacks in neighboring countries. The safe houses for terrorists in Pakistan is not a new issue and Pakistan has suffered life losses during war agaist terrorism and action against terrorist organizations in recent years.
Pakistan cooperated inaction against Al Qaeda, Taliban, Haqqani Network and many othet such groups, however, militancy continues in Pakistan despite these actions and this needs to be controlled, the spokesman added.
