ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has made a striking assertion, claiming that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is poised to form a forward block led by what he termed “subservient politicians,” according to Media Reports on Sunday.
In a media briefing, Senator Vawda alleged that some PTI members have intentionally undermined the party by abstaining from voting on constitutional amendments. He suggested that this maneuver was premeditated and emphasized that the public deserves to be informed about the reality behind these actions.
Vawda noted that had the opposition been engaged, they would have voted against the amendments. He further stated that a savvy politician would take the helm of the proposed PTI forward block.
Earlier, Vawda hinted at developments concerning the 26th constitutional amendment in a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Anyone is welcome to join, but we have more than enough support. Inshallah, after the amendment, we will celebrate with a cake.”
He stressed that the amendment would be approved regardless of the opposition’s participation, asserting, “It doesn’t matter if anyone shows up or not.” He warned that there would be no accountability for those involved in bribery or coercion.
Additionally, Vawda took aim at prominent figures within PTI, labeling them “Bikau Mall” (sellouts) and accusing them of relishing their positions while the party’s founder remains incarcerated. He expressed his dismay that PTI has acknowledged the current government and even sought to arrange a meeting with its imprisoned leader.
