Karachi: Chairman Federal Bureau of Revenue Rashid Mahmood Langrial has said that vehicles are necessary for the operations for young officers of the FBR while an officer visit for sales tax checking is necessary.
He was answering over the objections raised over the purchase of the vehicles.
He said that we will meet tax target adding that the competitive competition has to work on the matter of cement prices.
He said that Karachi has headquarters of big companies also having headquarters of multi national companies due to which a record tax collection reported from here.
Over a question regarding high tax collection Karachi but the amount not spend on Karachi, Langrial said that this matter is financial, federalism and set in the constitution.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that Senate committee for finance has expressed anger on a purchase of 1010 vehicles of whopping amount of Rs 6 billion.
The chairman of senate committee on finance had written a letter to Finance Minister Muhammad Aurnagzeb demanded not to release funds for the purchase of the cars to FBR.
