PESHAWAR: Police detained 11 nursing students during a protest in Peshawar after the demonstrators raised concerns over academic and hostel-related issues.
The protesting students alleged that they were being denied nearly two months of clinical training scheduled for the second semester, claiming that the college administration, particularly the principal, had failed to take the matter seriously.
According to the students, instead of engaging with them to resolve their grievances, the college administration called the police, resulting in the detention of 11 protesters.
The students have called for the immediate release of all detained protesters, especially the female students, and demanded a transparent inquiry into what they described as the alleged use of force against the demonstrators.
They further urged the authorities to address their academic and hostel-related concerns promptly and ensure that their clinical training opportunities are not affected.
