Parliamentary committee meeting on suggested constitutional amendments to be held today

Islamabad: A meeting of parliamentary committee on suggested constitutional amendments will be held today.

The special committee meeting will be held under the chair of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stalwart Khursheed Shah at 3:30 pm in the parliament house.

A sub committee will present its report in the special committee.

PPP, JUI-F and the government have presented their drafts for the constitutional amendments while the PTI has not presented its draft yet.

The PTI will present its point of view on PPP and the government drafts.

The special committee will try to make consensus in the meeting once again.

Yesterday the government has formed a sub committee to deliberated upon drafts of constitutional amendments.

Federal Minister for law and Human rights Azam Nazeer has been appointed chief of the committee.

Azam Nazeer has sought suggestions from the opposition parties while senator Irfan Siddique of PML-N said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has not given its draft for the constitutional amendment.

He said that the PTI reservations will also be addressed.
