ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB) has granted temporary No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Starlink, after receiving No Objection Certificate (NOC), Elon Musk’s Starlink is set to launch its satellite internet services in Pakistan.

According to sources, Starlink has met all conditions set by the Space Regulatory Board. Following clearance from the Ministry of Interior, the Space Regulatory Board granted the NOC, and now the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is expected to issue a license within the next two weeks.

It is important to note that Starlink had already applied for a license from PTA and submitted its technical and business plans. The company has successfully completed three registration phases in Pakistan.

Elon Musk’s Starlink has obtained registration from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). Additionally, it has secured registration from the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB). Now, the final step is obtaining approval from PTA.

Once PTA issues the license, Starlink will be able to launch its services in Pakistan. The PTA is currently reviewing the submitted documents to ensure compliance. Starlink has also confirmed that its services will not disrupt the existing network infrastructure in the country.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan introduced the National Satellite Policy in 2023 and later implemented the Space Activities Rules in 2024 to strengthen the country’s space communication infrastructure.
