Ex-PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf discharged from NAB references.

WEB DESK: Islamabad Accountability Court has discharged former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and several other accused in various NAB references.

Judge Ali Warraich of Accountability Court II announced the decision on three references filed under the Rental Power Projects.

The court delivered its verdict on the references for the Rental Power Projects, specifically the Sheikhupura, Bhikki, and Karkey ship references.

In the Karkey ship reference, 11 accused, including Pervaiz Ashraf, were discharged.

The Karkey NAB reference estimated corruption amounting to 22 billion rupees.

Karkey company had also filed a lawsuit against Pakistan seeking damages of 200 billion rupees.

In the Bhikki Power Project Sheikhupura reference, the court discharged six accused, including a former chairman of WAPDA. The Bhikki Power Project was a project with an estimated cost of 96 billion rupees.

The court also discharged the accused in the Sharqpur Power reference.
