Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has said that Sindh has become a center of the energy adding a 105 Km new railway line will transport Thar coal to the world over.
Addressing a cermony titled Sindh Energy Conference 2025, the CM said that Thar coal generated 31GW electricity in the last six years span which were provided to three million houses.
Criticising the federal government policies, Murad Ali Shah said owing to them the use of electricity could not be increased and investors were stopped entering in the country.
He said that Sindh is the energy basket of Pakistan adding Thar coal has large reservoir of energy.
The country gets almost the 70 percent of gas from Sindh while he said that the Thar coal is the cheapest source of electricity generation.
He apprised that in the last six years as many as 30 million ton coal was provided to International Power Producers (IPPs).
He said tha an amount of Rs 25 billion was allocated for solar energy while he said that the electricity bill will only be reduced when we will uptick its production.
Murad suggested that if you want to end subsidy then increasing production is must adding that there is a need to immediately activate electricity plants.
He said that Noriabad is a successful project of the Sindh government as 100 MW cheap electricity is being provided to Karachi from Noriabad.
We had planned that electricity be provided to nearing industrial areas from Noriabad.While he said that HESCO refused providing electricity to industrial areas that we have surplus energy.
He said that Sindh government has established its transmission company.
He said that when you will work there will be criticism if you don’t then people will laud you.
He said that Sindh Wind and Solar energy is guiding the country.
He said that electricity from Thar is being transported to Punjab from Matiari through National Grid . In the same manner electricity from Wind projects from Sindh also transported to the National Grid.
He apprised that on the directions of Bilawal Bhutto 2OO unit of electricity provided to people of Thar.
He apprised further that all the villages of Block 2 of Thar coal has been illuminated with the Solar .
He said that Sindh services for the country development are continued.
