SWAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have reportedly arrested the main suspects in the killing of a 14-year-old boy at a Swat madrassa, ARY News reported.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Maulana Muhammad Umar and his son, Qari Ehsan, identified as the prime accused, have been taken into custody. The father-son duo is accused of physically assaulting the minor, leading to his death.
The District Police Officer (DPO) confirmed that ten other individuals suspected of involvement were also detained at the scene. Authorities continue their investigation into the tragic and shocking incident that has stirred outrage in the local community.A madrassa was sealed, and nine staff members, including teachers, were arrested on July 22 following the death of the student, Farhan, who was reportedly beaten for being absent from class.
The incident took place in the Chaliyar area of Khwazakhela. According to police reports, the boy succumbed to injuries sustained during the assault by madrassa staff.In response, the family and local residents staged protests along the Kalam-Matta road, blocking traffic and demanding justice and the swift arrest of all those involved.
Khwazakhela’s Assistant Commissioner sealed the madrassa, and an FIR has been filed under Section 302 (murder) and the Child Protection Act.
