During her official visit to Japan, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with Mayaji Takuma, Japan’s Senior State Minister for Foreign Affairs. The discussion took place at the Japanese Foreign Office, where Maryam Nawaz conveyed her warm regards and best wishes for the Japanese leadership and people.
Mayaji Takuma received the Punjab Chief Minister and her delegation with warmth and expressed her congratulations on her historic appointment as Pakistan’s first female Chief Minister. She welcomed Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s visit, noting that it marked a significant milestone, being the first visit by a Pakistani dignitary of such stature to Japan in three decades.
Takuma praised the launch of over 120 development projects in Punjab, describing it as a commendable achievement. She emphasized that Japan considers Pakistan a valued and friendly partner and reiterated the importance Japan attaches to strengthening relations with Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to expand bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on boosting trade and investment opportunities. The meeting underscored their mutual commitment to deepening ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
Takuma also highlighted the significance of the visit, reinforcing Japan’s support for Pakistan’s development initiatives, and expressed hope for continued fruitful engagement between the two nations
