Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on instruction of Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has rescheduled Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) across Pakistan owing to the ongoing flood situation.
The exam, earlier set for October 5, will now take place on Sunday, October 26, authorities confirmed.
According to the PMDC , the decision was taken on the instructions of Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal.
Syed Mustafa Kamal said that the change was made in the interest of students facing difficulties in flood-hit areas.
Mustafa Kamal stressed that the well-being of students is the government’s priority. He said the decision assured that authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
According to the previous notification, candidates from Punjab would sit the test under the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, while candidates from Sindh would appear under the IBA University, Sukkur.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Khyber Medical University would conduct the examination. The University of Balochistan, Quetta, will oversee the test for candidates in Balochistan.
Applicants from the federal capital and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will take the exam at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad, which will also administer the examination for candidates in Gilgit-Baltistan and those based in Riyadh.
