Funeral ceremony for 12 martyrs held following Afghan Incursion

RAWALPINDI: A solemn funeral service was conducted in honor of the 12 soldiers who lost their lives while defending Pakistan during an incursion by Afghan forces.

The ceremony took place at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi, where attendees included senior military officials, civil authorities, and a large gathering of citizens. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was present to pay respects, alongside federal ministers and the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the proceedings, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif paid homage to the fallen servicemen, expressing the nation’s deep gratitude for their sacrifice. He highlighted that these brave individuals laid down their lives in the face of aggression from Afghan forces, and emphasized that they fought to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The Defence Minister also pointed out that the soldiers were martyred while resisting terrorist activities supported by India. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defend its borders and to counter any threats or conspiracies aimed at the nation’s security.
