PM vows to make Pakistan a Polio free Country

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on an anti-polio team in Matta area of Swat.

He conveyed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of a security official who was assigned to safeguard the anti-polio team. Offering his sympathies to the grieving family, he prayed for the soul of the deceased.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that a terrorist assault on individuals working to eliminate polio, a crucial public service, is unacceptable. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to fully eradicating polio from the country.

Despite obstacles posed by terrorist activities, he emphasized that the anti-polio campaign continues with determination and will remain relentless until polio is eradicated entirely.

Meanwhile, First Lady Bibi AsIfa Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the attack on an anti-polio team in Matta, Swat. In her statement today, she expressed heartfelt sorrow over the tragic loss of life.

Highlighting the gravity of such actions, she stated that targeting health workers and security forces engaged in the noble effort of protecting children from preventable diseases reflects hostility towards humanity.

She underscored that eradicating polio remains a national priority and stressed Pakistan’s steadfast resolve to secure a healthy and polio-free future for every child.

The First Lady extended her sympathies to the bereaved family and offered prayers for the soul of the departed.
