ISLAMABAD: Security forces have successfully neutralized 10 terrorists linked to Indian-supported khawarij in two separate operations.
An intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, resulting in the elimination of six khawarij members.
Sources reported that credible intelligence had revealed the presence and activities of militants in the surrounding areas. In response, security forces carried out extensive surveillance over the span of 8 to 10 days to confirm these movements.
Upon verifying their presence, a targeted operation was launched. The forces surrounded the suspects, leading to an intense exchange of fire. As a result, six militants, allegedly backed by India, were killed, while three others sustained injuries.
Among those killed was a key commander of the proscribed khawarij group, identified as Mehmood, also known as Muhammad.
In a separate operation, four terrorists were neutralized while trying to launch an attack on a security forces camp in the Mir Ali region of North Waziristan.
