Powerful earthquake shook Islamabad, parts of Khyber Pakhtukhwa

ISLAMABAD: 5.6 magnitude earthquake were felt across various parts of Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing panic among residents.

The Seismological Center reported that the tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Lower Dir, and Chitral. The earthquake’s epicenter was traced back to the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan, at a depth of approximately 120 kilometers.

In the aftermath, many people hurriedly evacuated buildings and offered prayers, frightened by the sudden shaking. Thankfully, there have been no reports of casualties or significant property damage at this time.

Authorities are actively monitoring the situation and have advised the public to remain alert and prepared for potential aftershocks while maintaining composure.
