WEB DESK: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent has landed in Azerbaijan to take part in the bilateral air exercise Indus Shield Alpha, marking another milestone in defense cooperation between the two nations.
The PAF delegation has brought with it the latest JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets, along with a team of experienced pilots and technical crew. The aircraft showcased their extended operational reach by completing a non-stop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan, supported by a successful aerial refuelling operation.
This midair refuelling, conducted with precision by the PAF’s IL-78 aerial tanker, underscored the air force’s enhanced long-range combat capability.
According to an official spokesperson, the exercise aims to strengthen interoperability and joint combat readiness between Pakistan and Azerbaijan’s air forces. It will emphasize advanced air combat tactics, mission coordination, and operational planning, reflecting the evolving dynamics of modern aerial warfare.
PAF officials stated that participation in Indus Shield Alpha reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional stability and fostering strong defense partnerships. The air force also reiterated its dedication to maintaining peak operational preparedness in line with contemporary warfare requirements.
