ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif underscored that the foremost identity of every citizen is being Pakistani, followed by their association with individual provinces.
Speaking at a workshop in Balochistan, the Prime Minister acknowledged the province’s significant role, noting its status as the largest in Pakistan by area. He emphasized the abundance of natural resources in Balochistan, describing them as a divine blessing and a national asset. He also lauded the Baloch people’s exceptional hospitality and generosity.
Addressing the region’s challenges, Shahbaz Sharif highlighted issues such as electricity access and road construction in remote areas. He stressed the necessity of fostering harmony among various communities to overcome these obstacles. The Prime Minister praised Balochistan’s rich cultural heritage and historical significance, which set it apart.
He reiterated that mutual understanding and fraternity are essential pillars of Pakistan’s federal framework. While acknowledging the geographical challenges of Balochistan, he pointed out that advancements in education and industry rely heavily on developing strong road infrastructure.
Shahbaz Sharif called for prioritizing national unity over provincial distinctions, emphasizing that cooperation and consensus among provinces are vital to Pakistan’s success. He also expressed gratitude to security forces for their constant sacrifices in preserving peace across the country.
The Prime Minister concluded by stating that the path to national progress begins with solid commitment and cohesion, stretching from Balochistan to Peshawar.
