WEB DESK: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 89, has been the subject of conflicting reports regarding his health, causing confusion among fans and media alike.
Indian outlets initially reported that the actor’s team confirmed his passing after he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai yesterday. It was said that Dharmendra was on a ventilator due to respiratory issues and had also undergone eye surgery earlier in April.
However, his daughter Esha Deol dismissed these rumors, assuring everyone that her father is fine and improving. She urged people not to believe in false reports. Similarly, his wife, Hema Malini, criticized the media for spreading unverified news, calling it a grave mistake to announce someone’s death while they are alive.
Hema Malini later expressed her disappointment publicly, emphasizing the irresponsibility of such actions by certain sections of the media.
Amid the speculation, several Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Hema Malini, and Esha Deol, reportedly visited the hospital to check on Dharmendra’s condition.
Known as one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved stars, Dharmendra began his acting journey in 1960 with the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. His illustrious career earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor, in 2012.
