Banned baloch outfit commander Noor Ali Chakrani, over 100 fighters lay down arms in Sui

SUI: Noor Ali Chakrani, a commander linked to a proscribed Baloch militant organization, surrendered to authorities on Saturday along with more than 100 of his followers in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district.

The surrender took place at a public ceremony in the Sui area, where the group formally ended its armed activities and announced its return to the national fold. The militants handed over their weapons to Mir Aftab Ahmed Bugti and pledged loyalty to the state.

As part of the ceremony, the former fighters hoisted the national flag and declared their commitment to follow the Constitution of Pakistan , a move officials described as an encouraging signal for long-term stability in the province.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti welcomed the development and congratulated Chakrani and his group for renouncing violence. He termed the decision to abandon militancy and accept the Constitution as a positive and responsible step.

The chief minister reiterated that while the government remains open to peace and reconciliation, intelligence-led operations against hostile elements would continue. He warned that any group misinterpreting the state’s policy of reconciliation as weakness would face decisive action.
