Verdict against Faiz Hameed hailed as a triumph for truth, Atta Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that the verdict against Former Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence, Faiz Hameed, highlights the robustness of the army’s self-accountability process.

He mentioned that Faiz Hameed had also played the role of a political adviser to PTI, emphasizing that today’s decision is a triumph for truth and justice. The ruling against Hameed, he explained, was firmly grounded in evidence. “The individual who crossed the red line has now been held accountable,” Tarar remarked.

The minister further noted that Hameed was given the opportunity to defend himself and present witnesses. After reviewing all statements and evaluating the evidence, a fair and impartial verdict was reached. He underlined the point that no one is exempt from the rule of law.

Tarar asserted that legal measures are implemented against anyone violating boundaries, alleging that Faiz Hameed had abused his authority. He added that further inquiries into his political activities are ongoing.

According to Tarar, Hameed was found guilty of all charges and faced consequences in relation to the Top City case. He concluded by reaffirming that the army’s internal accountability mechanism is both strong and transparent, with today’s outcome serving as clear evidence of this system in action.
