RAWALPINDI: In a heartbreaking incident, a passenger van carrying sixteen individuals plunged into the river near Azad Pattan in Sundhoti district, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports indicate that the van, traveling from Hajira to Rawalpindi, veered off course and fell into the river.
The Deputy Commissioner of Sundhoti stated that rescue teams promptly responded to the situation, managing to save four passengers. Unfortunately, twelve others remain unaccounted for, and efforts to locate them are ongoing.
Those injured in the accident were immediately transported to Kahuta THQ Hospital, where they are receiving medical care.
Rescue officials have highlighted the challenges posed by the river’s swift current and the area’s rugged terrain, which are complicating the search operation. Nevertheless, efforts to recover the missing individuals continue persistently.
