ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a Live Weapon Firing (LWF) operation, showcasing the FM-90(N) ER Surface-to-Air Missile in the North Arabian Sea. The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the achievement in a recent statement.
During the demonstration, a Pakistan Navy vessel skillfully intercepted agile aerial targets, emphasizing the force’s war-fighting capabilities and readiness for combat. The event was observed by the Commander of the Pakistan Fleet from onboard a Navy fleet unit.
In its statement, ISPR highlighted the fleet commander’s commendation of the officers and sailors involved in the exercise. He applauded their professionalism and operational expertise, reinforcing the navy’s unwavering commitment to protecting Pakistan’s maritime interests under any circumstances.
This development comes amidst an increased focus on operational preparedness by Pakistan in recent months. Just last week, Chief of Defense Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir visited frontline units in Gujranwala and Sialkot to oversee a field training exercise featuring tanks and drones. During the visit, he underscored the importance of adaptability in modern warfare, emphasizing agility, precision, situational awareness, and swift decision-making as critical factors in contemporary battle scenarios.
Following the missile firing test in the northern Arabian Sea, the Pakistan Navy reiterated its dedication to safeguarding the nation’s territorial waters, showcasing its capabilities and operational strength.
