Gold, silver reach new record high in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold and silver prices in Pakistan have continued their upward trajectory, reaching unprecedented levels in both domestic and international markets.

Today, the price of 24-carat gold per tola jumped by Rs 2,000, settling at an all-time high of Rs 472,862, while silver prices experienced a significant rise as well.

Gold’s rapid ascent has been evident as the rate for 10 grams climbed by Rs 1,714, hitting Rs 405,402.

On the global stage, gold prices escalated further, with an ounce surpassing the $4,500 threshold to close at $4,505—an increase of $20 since the previous session.

Analysts attribute this surge to heightened demand and ongoing fluctuations in international markets.

Silver prices follow a similar pattern

Silver also saw remarkable gains today within Pakistan. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs 500, reaching a record Rs 7,705. Concurrently, the rate for 10 grams of 24-carat silver climbed to Rs 6,605. In global markets, silver per ounce rose by $5, reaching $72.30.

The All-Pakistan Sarrafa-Gems and Jewellers Association highlighted that these price hikes are a reflection of a combination of robust local demand and prevailing trends in international markets.
