ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb revealed that Pakistan has risen to become the third-largest country in freelancing, emphasizing the potential of the nation’s youth as a powerful economic force.
Addressing an event in Islamabad, the finance minister highlighted that youth constitute the majority of Pakistan’s population. Consequently, the government is prioritizing skill-based training to equip them for economic growth.
He underscored that the nation’s primary challenge lies in the lack of discipline and a results-oriented approach.
With a population of 240 million and an annual growth rate of 2.5 percent, he stated that sustainable economic development is vital to overcoming poverty.
Aurangzeb outlined the vision of collaboratively building Pakistan’s Social Impact Financing Framework, clarifying that this initiative is not just a policy document but a comprehensive financial system.
He also mentioned that special efforts are being directed toward empowering young women through the PSIB initiative. Commending the efforts of NuTec and Early Stage Codiel teams during this groundbreaking launch, he encouraged a shift towards results-driven funding and emphasized adopting a public-private partnership model in upcoming phases.
