QUETTA: Since July 5, security authorities have neutralized at least 75 militants linked to Indian-backed organizations Fitna Al Khwarij (FAK) and Fitna Al-Hindustan (FAH) across Balochistan, sources confirmed on Friday.
The crackdown, dubbed Operation Shaban, was initiated by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police in response to the recent attack on Mangi Dam Police Station.
In the initial phase, security forces reported killing 26 terrorists during counter-terrorism operations on July 6 and 7. Since then, the operation has intensified, deploying coordinated ground and aerial assaults to encircle militants hiding in rugged mountainous terrains.
Over the past 24 hours, an additional 13 terrorists have been killed, bringing the total number of militants eliminated in Operation Shaban to 39.
Khuzdar Incident:
In a related incident, security personnel repelled an assault on a police station in Zehri, Khuzdar district, on Friday morning. During the firefight, security forces reportedly killed eight terrorists immediately, with helicopter-assisted operations purportedly killing five to six more.
Overall, since July 5, security forces have claimed to have killed 75 militants in operations across Balochistan, including targeted raids and intelligence-driven actions.
Earlier, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reported that three separate attacks by FAK and FAH resulted in the martyrdom of 42 individuals: 11 soldiers, 27 police officers, and four civilians.
Following these assaults, Pakistani security forces launched comprehensive intelligence-based operations, killing 54 terrorists. Lt Gen Chaudhry also accused India of orchestrating the terror activities in Balochistan, asserting that the Pakistani military responded swiftly and effectively to these threats.
