Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi appointed as coordinator for Islamic Affairs, Gulf States and Interfaith Harmony

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, has been designated as the coordinator for Islamic Affairs, Gulf States, and Interfaith Harmony.

As per information revealed on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved Ashrafi’s appointment, and an official notification confirming his new position has been issued.

Notably, Ashrafi is a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League and is affiliated with various esteemed international and Islamic organizations. He has also cultivated strong personal relationships with influential Islamic and Arab leaders.

Having previously served in a similar capacity as a special representative, Ashrafi’s current role will involve enhancing coordination and fortifying relationships in these domains.

Within Pakistan, he has significantly contributed to fostering interfaith dialogue, inter-sect harmony, and promoting tolerance across diverse communities.
