US media reports identify her as 75-year-old Faiqa Aftab Qureshi, a local pediatrician. Virginia police stated her car veered off the road, caught fire, and she died at the scene.
Dr. Faiqa joined The King’s Daughter Children’s Hospital in 1993, later serving as the medical director of its emergency department. Her work with children, families, and training future doctors left a significant legacy.
King Edward Medical University Lahore mourned her loss in a social media statement, acknowledging her as a meritorious graduate of 1973 and highlighting her impactful contributions.
