ISLAMABAD: Legendary Pakistani cricketer and former captain Shoaib Malik has officially announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Through a message shared on his social media platforms, Shoaib Malik expressed his gratitude for the past decade of PSL, stating that he has cherished every moment both on and off the field. He feels it’s the right time to bring his PSL journey to a close.

Malik also emphasized that he remains committed to contributing to the growth and development of cricket in the future.

It’s important to highlight that Shoaib Malik retired from Test cricket in 2015 and from One Day Internationals (ODIs) in 2019. Although he never formally retired from T20 Internationals, he has not played for the national team since 2021. Despite this, he continued to participate actively in PSL and various other T20 leagues.

Throughout his PSL career, Shoaib Malik played in all 10 seasons, representing four different teams: Karachi Kings, Multan Sultan, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. His final appearance was in the 2025 season with Quetta Gladiators.
